This policy explains how Self Clarity collects and uses information when you visit selfclarity.org, submit a programme application, nominate someone for a programme, or otherwise contact us through this site. It applies wherever you are in the world, and specifically addresses the rights you have under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

Information We Collect

When you submit an application, we collect your name, email, phone number, role, country, programme interest, and what you tell us in your own words. When you nominate someone, we collect the nominee's name, role, organisation, and your relationship to them, alongside your own name and email.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site. The only cookie in use is the strictly-necessary session cookie that keeps our own staff signed in to the admin system — it is never set for site visitors filling out a form.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to review and respond to applications and nominations, to communicate about the programmes you are interested in, and to maintain the security of this website. We do not sell your personal information, and we only share it as described below.

Our Legal Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, we rely on your consent (given when you tick the consent box on a form) as the legal basis for processing application, nomination, and marketing data, and on legitimate interest for basic security and anti-abuse measures on this site.

Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give at the point of collection. You may withdraw that consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share it with service providers who help us operate — for example, a CRM or scheduling tool our team uses to follow up on applications — and only with providers bound by a written data-processing agreement to keep it confidential and use it solely to provide that service to us. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data Retention

We keep application and nomination submissions for up to 24 months from the date of submission, after which they are automatically deleted, unless you have an ongoing relationship with a Self Clarity programme that requires us to keep it longer, or the law requires a longer period.

Your Rights Under GDPR (EU / UK)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure ("the right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Your Rights Under the DPDP Act (India)

If you are in India, as a Data Principal you have the right to: obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed; request correction, completion, updating, or erasure of your personal data; have your grievance addressed within a reasonable time; nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity; and withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To make any of the requests above, email us at privacy@selfclarity.org. Our Grievance Officer / privacy contact is the Self Clarity Privacy Team. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

Self Clarity's programmes and this website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and if we become aware that we have done so, we will delete it. Where the processing of a child's personal data is ever required, we will seek verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian as required by applicable law.

International Data Transfers

Because Self Clarity works with leaders across more than a dozen countries, your information may be processed by our team or service providers in a country other than your own. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives a comparable standard of protection, including through contractual safeguards with any service providers involved.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold, including restricting access to authenticated staff only and encrypting data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date.
